Packaging Materials and How to Properly Recycle Them
At Thomson Home, we design and ship our products with care for your home and for the planet by choosing lower-impact materials and reducing waste wherever possible.
The content of our shipping and packaging materials
We use simple, recyclable materials whenever possible to reduce waste and environmental impact.
- Merchandise bags: Recyclable kraft paper
- Gift boxes: Recyclable corrugated carboard
- Gift box filler: Recyclable crinkle kraft paper
- Shipping boxes: Recyclable corrugated cardboard
- Shipping box filler: A mix of biodegradable packing peanuts, recyclable newsprint, and recyclable honeycomb packing paper
Recycling your shipment packaging
Most paper and cardboard materials can be recycled through curbside recycling programs. Recycling guidelines vary by location, so we recommend checking with your local recycler to confirm what can and cannot be accepted.
Our biodegradable packing peanuts are made from natural, non-toxic, plant-based starch. They can be:
- Added to compost piles
- Used in flower beds
- Dissolved in water for easy disposal
REDUCE & RECYCLE
We’re committed to keeping our packaging as low-impact as possible. That means using fewer materials, choosing recyclable and biodegradable options, and continuously looking for ways to reduce waste while ensuring your items arrive safely.
