The High Fiber began with artist Daphne Cohan’s childhood love of making, sparked by a bag of fabric scraps she received when she was eight years old. After years of sewing, drawing and creating, Daphne founded The High Fiber in 2009. Her longtime creative partner Ed joined the business in 2014, and together they continue to create from their home studios in Asheville, North Carolina.
Inspired by the mountains, growers and makers of Western North Carolina, every design begins as an original hand-drawn illustration. The artwork is printed on unbleached, 100% cotton flour sack towels using water-based, non-toxic inks made in the USA, bringing Daphne’s distinctive drawings to practical pieces designed for everyday use.
From kitchen towels to cards and prints, The High Fiber creates each piece with an appreciation for thoughtful craftsmanship, creativity and simple living. Now carried by hundreds of independent shops across the United States and Canada, the collection remains rooted in the hands-on, small-scale approach with which it began.
