Focused on sustainable living, Nidhi and Manasi Sharma created ShoreBags, which produces eco-friendly bags made from heavy-duty cotton canvas, including content from post-industrial waste. The Sharma family has extensive experience in the cotton canvas business, and when Nidhi and Manasi’s dad decided to retire, they took over the family business and launched ShoreBags. The company’s fashionable, multi-functional tote bags are designed to be used daily and are also biodegradable and recyclable.
By having their own factory, the Sharmas can responsibly source raw materials and provide opportunities for women in impoverished communities. They strive to have women make up at least 50 percent of their employees in the factory. The Sharmas emphasize that by buying products from ShoreBags, customers are supporting transparent and fair supply chains, responsible sourcing and ethical manufacturing practices.
